THE FALL GUY
Colt Seaver is a combination bounty hunter and stunt man. He drives a
big GMC truck with a eagle painted on it's hood. He chases after "bad
guys" and returns them to the Los Angeles area. He has two companions,
Howie and Jodie. These two companions usually follow Colt in his
adventures

DJ'S CHOICE
The picture above of the vinyl single made me think of two things ,first of all how big of a deal it was to buy a chart single, back then.if the song was popular you had to get down there fast or it was sold out but the buzz you got holding that hard come by disc made the effort worthwhile.
Secondly I was just thinking about the set of decks I cut my teeth on,a set of mono FAL's bought from Aquarius Sound and Lighting in Lexlip. The FAL twin Decks took two men to carry them, that and the record box (often referred to as the coffin)
Thank You for visiting our blog over the years our posts have attracted well over one hundred thousand views which far outstripped expectations when these were put together back when blogs were still in their infancy .In an age where posts on social media come and go we forget blogs last longer than you think but unfortunately the links especially to videos tend to die.So we've started to do a review on these posts to try and make the links operational again.

Money 1986
The 20p coin was introduced to Ireland in 1986
A small batch of 20p coins were minted & dated in 1985 to test in vending machines, some of these coins that managed to make their way into circulation are very rare and sought after by coin collectors willing to pay large sums for them.Check in the back of that old drawer maybe you could be the lucky owner of one date marked 1985!
WHAT WE BOUGHT IN 1986
This is what a bag of Tayto Crisps looked like in 1986 although this is an older photo the bag didn't change for years. In 1986 a bag of Tayto Crisps cost around 20p (Irish punt) There was no foil pack and they had a simpler stronger taste which was magic when you got a fresh bag.
ICE CREAM
Do you remember cooling off with a Calippo
DRINKS 1986 : Ritz Cider was all the rage and cost £1.25 (Irish Punt)
COMPUTERS 1986
1986: Amstrad launched its first low-cost PC.The 1512 was a great success here in Ireland.

The band was formed in 1994 with two members, Touche (Theo Keating) and Regal (Paul Eve). They were music production partners from 1990
Regal left the band in 1997 to pursue his career as co-founder of the
UK's Bronx Dogs, and Touche worked on the second Wiseguys album, The Antidote.
This was released in 1998, and contained their two most famous songs
"Ooh La La" and "Start the Commotion". "Ooh La La" was a minor UK hit in
April 1998, then in March 1999 it was re-released as a single and went to #2 in the UK Singles Chart following its use in a popular TV commercial for Budweiser In 2001,
The Wiseguys disbanded in 2001.
COUNTRY CLASSIC
No3 on this weeks Chart "That Don't Impress Me Much" was written by Shania Twain and her producer husband
Robert John "Mutt" Lange, and was originally released to North American
Country radio stations in late 1998 as the sixth Country single released
from her 1997 album Come On Over. It became her third biggest single on
the Billboard Hot 100 and her biggest hit in the UK, where it sold
763,000 copies. It also topped the singles charts in Belgium, Ireland,
Norway and the Netherlands.
DJ'S CHOICE
As the flipside of our country classic this dance re-mix was a great floor-filler in 1999
The lyrics are taken from a famous essay written in 1997 by Mary Schmich, a columnist with the Chicago Tribune.
There are songs that
are perfect for their time and this is one them ,It's a life long memory
,that day of the summer holidays when your class break up for the last
time and we identify with American High School who do graduation like
no other. With the new millennium on the way the Class of 99 felt that
this was a special year and this song captured all those feelings becoming a
surprise hit mainly due to the power of the early days of Social
Networking mostly on Napster and other peer to peer sites
TV 1999
Friends was one of the most watched TV show in 1999 . The series ran for a decade between 1994 and 2004 and it''s 2004 finale attracted 52.5 million viewers in America alone.

TOP MOVIE 1999
Jim, Oz, Finch and Kevin are four friends who make a pact that before they graduate they will all lose their virginity. The hard job now is how to reach that goal by prom night. Whilst Oz begins singing to grab attention and Kevin tries to persuade his girlfriend, Finch tries any easy route of spreading rumors and Jim fails miserably. Whether it is being caught on top of a pie or on the Internet, Jim always end up with his trusty sex advice from his father. Will they achieve their goal of getting laid by prom night? or will they learn something much different.
1999 POWER MACINTOSH COMPUTER
The
Power Macintosh G3 (Blue & White) series unveils a dramatically
different translucent "blue and white" enclosure with a "fold down door"
on the side that makes the system extremely easy to upgrade. It also
introduced Firewire -- a then new high speed peripheral connection
standard -- and was the first "pro" system to include USB (along with an
ADB port for "legacy" use). It dropped traditional Mac serial ports and
onboard SCSI.
The Apple Power Macintosh G3/350 (Blue & White), based on the
Yosemite architecture, features a 350 MHz PowerPC 750 (G3) processor 64 MB or 128 MB of RAM, a 6 GB or 12 GB
Ultra ATA/33 hard drive, a 32X CD-ROM drive or a 5X DVD-ROM drive, and
an ATI Rage 128 GL graphics card with 16 MB of SDRAM
There are
three modestly different configurations of this model -- M6668LL/A --
which shipped equipped with 64 MB of RAM, a 6.0 GB hard drive, and a 5X
DVD-ROM drive for US$1999, M6666LL/A -- which shipped with 128 MB of
RAM, a 12.0 GB hard drive, a 32X CD-ROM drive, and a Zip 100 drive for
US$2499, and M7556LL/A -- introduced June 1, 1999 -- which swapped the
DVD-ROM drive for a CD-ROM drive but is otherwise identical to
M6668LL/A. However, the revised configuration sold for only US$1599.
Mike Edgar comments on our facebook page
"My
first PC had a Hard Drive of 24Mb !!!!! it ran on an Intel 8086
processor and had no windows interface so each command had to be typed
in cd\ etc. It had no interconnection with any other PC until modems
came along which had an audio connection achieved by placing the
telephone handset onto a mic/speaker arrangement after first manually
dialling the recepient... It seems unbelievably cumbersome now but it
beat the hell out of manually typing a letter..."
Top News Story of 1999
The Web everywhere, Microsoft's battles, and the Y2K bug lying in wait (maybe).
At
the end of a decade that's seen tremendous advancements in technology,
the biggest news was not about a dazzling new invention. Rather, it was a
short-sighted programming decision made decades ago that created the
technology story that this year spread like out-of-control ivy and poked
its tentacles into virtually every media outlet in the world.
Y2K.
By now everyone who doesn't live in a cave (as well as those who plan
to move into one for New Year's Eve) has heard of the world's most
famous computer bug. It didn't start out as a bug, it started out as a
memory-saving programming technique: Why use four digits for a date when
you can use two? Alas, that question has now been answered, and in the
process untold billions of dollars have been spent--and millions of
consultants employed--to ensure that our computer-controlled world
doesn't come to an end because it thinks it's 1900 when the clock ticks
over to January 1, 2000. By now, most technology professionals seem
confident that on New Year's Day, Y2K will be one big non-story.
However, viruses set to trigger on January 1 may provide some diversion
for the thousands of data center staff (and computer journalists) who
have to work over the holiday "just in case."
